Digital transformation and its impact on organizations’ business models
SAQ’s Vaud section organized a webinar on the subject of “Digital Transformation” and its impact on the operations model on June 22. At this event, Fructufy was asked to present its approach to “tree organizations”, and to highlight the changing role of quality managers and management in the face of the advent of digital technology in their operations.
The hybrid model presented by Fructufy combines the “predictive” aspects of traditional quality management with the “proactive” approach of innovation to meet market expectations.
Predictability refers to the strong structure of an organization and the implementation of standards (the core).
Proactivity is aimed at customer-focused teams, respectively at the quality of the experience delivered (branches).
Until now, the notion of quality has focused on the production mechanism, or on the quest for efficiency and accuracy in manufacturing processes. For the past ten years, quality principles have also extended to the way in which service is delivered. We’re talking about the customer/user experience.
De facto, operational models are being turned upside down, and management is being asked to revisit its value generation tools, all within a systemic approach.
This revision of the operating model is a challenge for the quality manager, in the sense that his function is part of a major evolution in the company. He will act as facilitator and guardian of the movement, while supporting the cultural transition towards a “service” orientation in team activities.
The enthusiasm generated by this presentation led to the creation of a workshop to be held at the next Forum d’Excellence et Performance (FOREP) on November 02, 2023 in Lausanne (SwissTech Convention Center, Ecublens).
